WinPO is proud to celebrate 40 years of serving Amputees in Manitoba and Western Ontario.
Winnipeg Prosthetics And Orthotics Specialty Company LTD opened its doors on April 1, 1986. John Marinic CP (c) and Allan O’Neill CO (c) guided WinPO through the early years and after a few moves had settled into the location it is today. During this time, John and Allan served their patients throughout Manitoba, and were instrumental in supporting and bringing change to the orthotics and prosthetics profession. They retired in 2010 and 2012 respectively, and each received the honour of Fellowship in the P&O community.
As ownership evolved, Garry Steadman CO(c), Peter Marinic CPO(c), Bram Kok CPO(c), and Eric Kuhl CP(c) helped guide WinPO into a new era - introducing advancements like digital patient records, CAD/CAM technology, and microprocessor components. Their leadership ensured that patients continued to benefit from both innovation and personalized care.
More recently, the clinic has seen another transition. With Peter Marinic and longtime administrator Janice Marinic stepping into retirement, Marc Pepin CP(c) has joined the ownership group alongside Bram and Eric. Together, they are committed to continuing WinPO’s legacy - supporting patient mobility and contributing to the future of prosthetics and orthotics.
As WinPO celebrates 40 years, it’s not just about looking back - it’s about moving forward. The team remains focused on providing compassionate, leading-edge care for every patient who walks through the door.
Here’s to 40 years - and many more to come.
